Memorial for my Momma.

They had the Memorial for my Mom, in Charleston, SC, at the church she attends. My sisters said that the church was full. She was well loved for sure. I wasn't able to make it due to finances. My daughter from Mississippi, Aubrey was able to go. My brother from Georgia attended, my sisters, Carol and LeAnne, as well as friends from Michigan. I would have loved to have been there, but couldn't.

Here is her obituary that was in the paper.

Mrs. Horning was born April 28, 1931 in Birmingham, AL, the daughter of the late James and Mildred Thurman. After moving to South Carolina, she took pride in nourishing the children of the Charleston County School District as a Lunchroom Manager for many years. Mrs. Horning was a faithful member of The North Charleston Church of Christ, who centered her life around her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sisters: Patsy Cowart and Peggy (Russ) Krohn; four children: Carol Phillips, Donnie (Bonnie) Ford, Debbie (David) Bemis and LeAnne (David) Decker; twelve grandchildren: Shane, Dana, Aubrey, April, Carrie, Heather, Christopher, Jeremy, Caroline, Hannah, Harrison, and Holton; two step-grandchildren: Brian and Derek Decker and fourteen great-grandchildren: Kierra, Taylor, Matthew, Landon, Dominique, Morgan, Briannah, Sydney, Cooper, Conner, Brice, Noah, Jacob and Baby Mason who will be arriving shortly. Here are a few pics my sister LeAnne sent me. She was cremated.

Isn't the urn my sister's chose, so pretty?

This is the program they gave out.

I miss her so much already. Knowing I can't pick up the phone and say Hi, Momma, and her say in her sweet southern voice, Hi my sweet Debbie. She worried so much about me and my health. She had already had to bury 1 daughter and was so afraid for me, she'd keep after me to eat right, etc.

She was a very tiny lady. Maybe 100 lbs, if that. She had lost most her eyesight about 10-12 years ago, due to macular degeneration. She also had crohn's disease. She had taken a bad fall at the hair salon last year. I blogged about it. The doctor's finally insisted she use a walker, which she hated, but finally gave up and started using one after that fall.

She was so pretty. Here is a pic of her in earlier times. I am not sure of her age.

Here is a pic of her with me, my sister Susan, and my baby sister LeAnne one Easter. I was the dark headed one, Susan the blonde, and LeAnne the baby. I was about 13 in this pic. Wasn't Mom beautiful?

This next picture was taken in 1972.
This was in the late 90's I think.

This one was probably 1-2 yrs ago.

Here she is Mother's day, 2012 with my sister, Carol.

This was June of 2012.

Please keep me and my family in your thoughts and prayers. How do we make it, after losing your Mom? I know many of you have and never understood that pain, until now. I just lost my sister 4 yrs ago, come October 23rd. I am not sure how much more I can take, but I know others have gone through loss and make it. It just hurts really bad. Really, really bad. I pray my Mom and sister are up in heaven, hugging and loving each other, getting it ready for me.

Thank you to all who have left their condolences, etc. It means more to me, than you will ever know. God Bless each and everyone of you.

God Bless~
Debbie

Prayers Please :(

I am coming to ask for prayers for my Mom. A little while ago, she had a massive stroke. So bad the doctors can't do anything for her. She is in ICU on life support. I ask you to please pray for our family. She lives in SC, and I am in Ohio. I don't have the funds to go down there. The doctors are giving her from a few hours to a few days. Here is a picture of her on her birthday, in April. She is 81 yrs old.

Prayers please for her to not be feeling any pain, and that she is at rest.

I love you, Mommy.

God Bless~
Debbie
