My Parents

My Mama & Daddy were divorced when I was 10. Both remarried. My step mom Ann passed away in 2003. My stepfather is still alive and with my Mom. I wanted to share this picture of my parents comforting each other, mourning the loss of their daughter, my sister Susan. It was so sweet and so comforting to me and my siblings to see this. How can they handle burying a child? My heart breaks for them. My Daddy will be going into a assisted living this next week. Please keep my parents in your thoughts and prayers as they are mourning. My heart is broken.

Home

I wanted to let everyone know that I am back home from my sister's funeral. I am extremely mentally & physically exhausted. I will never recover, I don't think from her death. She took part of me with her. I will try and blog about it soon. Please pray for me to get some strength back, as I am very weak right now.

Thanks to all who have left me wonderful uplifting messages. They mean the world to me, you'll never know how much. I love you all.

My plans to attend my sisters funeral

I will be flying out of Dayton, Ohio tomorrow afternoon, along with my daughter Carrie to Charleston, SC where my Mom and older sister, and baby sister live. We will then drive 2 hours into Aiken SC on Sunday, where we will stay overnight. Susan's Memorial service is Monday, not sure of the time or details yet. My older Sister, Carol, got mine and Carrie's tickets, as they did not want me traveling alone in my health conditions. David is staying home to tend to the dogs and fish and keep the home fires burning.

I can not believe my sister is gone. She is 2 yrs my younger and we were best of bud's growing up. I am having a very hard time dealing with all this. I am worried about my Mom. She is taking this very hard. My Dad which lives in a nursing home in Columbia SC will be attending also. I haven't seen my Mom or my Dad since my step mom's funeral in July 2003. I wanted to see them very badly as they are both not in good health but this is not how I wanted to see them, or visit Charleston, my home. Please pray for my parents as they say goodbye to one of their children. I can't even imagine that pain. It's painful enough to say goodbye to my little sister.

Here is a pic of My Daddy, and his 4 children. I have a half sister also not included in this photo, that is my Mom's and stepdad's daughter. From left to right is: Carol, my oldest sibling, Then Susan (the sis that just passed away), then my older brother Donnie, he's the tall man, and my sweet Daddy, and then ugly chubby me. This was taken summer of 2003 at my stepmom's funeral.

Here is a pic of my sweet Mama.

I want to thank those who have offered their condolences. It's means so much to me. The 1st thing, after telling my children, was I wanted to get online and talk to my blogging family. Ya'll mean a lot to me. I love you all.

I will be flying back into Dayton around 7pm on Tuesday. Please pray for us to have a safe flight. I am so scared to fly, but this is a necessity, so I will have to suck it up, and try and be brave. I will be back blogging as soon as I can.

I Love you all!!!!!!

Prayers Please!!

My sister Susan, who lived in Augusta Ga, died this afternoon. She was 50 yrs old and committed suicide. She left behind, her husband, a daughter , a son, and a grandson. She also left her Mom, her Dad, 3 sisters and 1 brother. Please pray for my strength, and for my families strength. My Mom is not dealing well. Right now, due to funds, I am not sure how I will get down there. She didn't have insurance, so we don't have the money for burial and trying to figure all this out. I am beyond sad. My head hurts, my heart hurts, everything hurts. I came here cause I need my blogging family to pray for us please.

I love ya'll.

I Won, I Won!!!!

I entered for a give a way on Helen's blog, Reddirt Woman and I won! Can you beleive that? I won a beautiful necklace and earring set she made. How special is that? Made my day, my week, my month!! Yippee, can you tell I am excited? Thank you so much Helen. If anyone wants to read a good blog, go on over to Reddirt Woman's blog. She always has interesting reading.

Once again thanks Helen. I will cherish my prize. Here is a photo that she had on her site. It's my prize now!!

Fall is sure here. We had heavy frost last night with 32 degree temps. Oh I am so not ready for winter, but do love the sites and smells of fall. I smell fireplaces going, and see pumpkins all over. The leaves are gorgeous, but falling, and my yard needs raked, which neither David or I can do. The temps also cause David's breathing to not be so good. He may have to go back out of work on disability for a bit. He has a appointment with his pulmonologist on Tuesday. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Financially it's very tough.

I hope everyone had a great weekend and will have a wonderful Monday. Wonder what Hallie will have on her Morbid Monday's blog tomorrow? I always wait to open it, after I eat Breakfast! LOL. Love you Hallie, but sometimes Morbid Monday's make me not want to eat, which is a good thing, but not when you have to take insulin and eat...LOL.

God Bless~

The One Flaw In Women

The One Flaw In Women

By the time the Lord made A woman,
He was into his sixth day of working overtime.
An angel appeared and said,
'Why are you spending so much time on this one?'
And the Lord answered, 'Have you seen my spec sheet on her?
She has to be completely washable, but not plastic,
have over 200 movable parts, all replaceable
and able to run on diet coke and leftovers,
have a lap that can hold four children at one time,
have a kiss that can cure anything from a scraped knee to a broken heart
-and she will do everything
with only two hands.'

The angel was astounded at the requirements.
'Only two hands!? No way!
And that's just on the standard model?
That's too much work for one day.
Wait until tomorrow to finish.'

'But I won't, ' the Lord protested.
'I am so close to finishing this creation that is so close to my own heart.
She already heals herself when she is sick
AND can work 18 hour days.'

The angel moved closer and touched the woman.
'But you have made her so soft, Lord.'

'She is soft,' the Lord agreed,
'but I have also made her tough.
You have no idea what she can endure or accomplish.'

'Will she be able to think?', asked the angel.

The Lord replied,
'Not only will she be able to think,
she will be able to reason and negotiate.'

The angel then noticed something,
and reaching out, touched the woman's cheek.
'Oops, it looks like you have a leak in this model.
I told you that you were trying to put too much into this O N E.'

'That's not a leak,'
the Lord corrected,
'that's a tear!'
'What's the tear for?' the angel asked.

The Lord said, 'The tear is her way of expressing her joy,
her sorrow, her pain, her disappointment, her love,
her loneliness, her grief and her pride.'
The angel was impressed.
'You are a genius, Lord.
You thought of everything!
Woman is truly amazing.'

And she is!
Women have strengths that amaze men.
They bear hardships and they carry burdens,
but they hold happiness,
love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy
and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up to injustice.
They don't take 'no' for an answer
when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without so their family can have.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel
and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about
a birth or a wedding.
Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member,
yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.

They know that a hug and a kiss
can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you
to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning
They bring joy, hope and love.
They have compassion and ideals.
They give moral support to their family and friends..
Women have vital things to say and everything to give

HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE TINY FLAW IN WOMEN,

IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.

Thursday night Pics

I wanted to let everyone know, I am doing OK, Just having some major pain issues and falling issues, but I will be OK. Please keep me in your prayers along with Ness. Her daughter is having a tough time. Also Jojo is having major pain issues herself. Please go to their blogs and give them your well wishes. They are both such wonderful sweet women. I love them both and need some sweetness from us.

I want to share with you pics of some of my grandchildren. My daughter took these pics and I enlarged them and they are hanging on my wall. Aren't they such great blessings? I sure think so, and love them so much!!!

Here they are all together on my daughters front porch.

Here is Taylor, She is 13.

Here is Morgan. She will be 8 in November.

Here is Sydney. She will be 6 in January.

Here is Cooper. He is 19 mos old.

Now here is a pic of Mr. Bonz. He is David's little friend at work. David thought he needed help, so shared his oxygen with him. Today he went in to work, and Mr. Bonz has a broken leg and a missing foot. Poor Mr. Bonz. David is trying to save him. LOL. I think he's alittle far gone although.

I hope that you had a splendid Thursday and your Friday will be good also.

Why?

I hope to be back soon. I am just having a bad time right now, with my thoughts and feelings. Also several of my blogging buddies are having a tough time, and I am trying to devote my energy to them. Please be patient with me and keep me in your thoughts and prayers also. Until then, here is a funny for you to read.

Why, Why, Why?

Why do we press harder on a remote control when we know the batteries are almost dead?

Why do banks charge a fee on 'insufficient funds' when they already know there is not enough money?

Why does someone believe you when you say there are four billion stars; but have to check when you say the paint is still wet?

Why doesn't Tarzan have a beard?

Why does Superman stop bullets with his chest, but ducks when you throw a revolver at him?

Why do Kamikaze pilots wear helmets?

Whose idea was it to put an 'S' in the word 'lisp'?

If people evolved from apes, why are there still apes?

Why is it that no matter what color bubble bath you use the bubbles are always white?

Is there ever a day that mattresses are not on sale?

Why do people constantly return to the refrigerator with hopes that something new to eat will have materialized?

Why do people keep running over a string a dozen times with their vacuum cleaner, then reach down, pick it up, examine it, then put it down to give the vacuum one more chance?

Why is it that no plastic bag will open from the end on your first try?

How do those dead bugs get into those enclosed light fixtures?

When we are in the supermarket and someone rams our ankle with a shopping cart then apologizes for doing so, why do we say, 'It's all right?' Well, it isn't all right, so why don't we say, 'That really hurt, why don't you watch where you're going?'

Why is it that whenever you attempt to catch something that's falling off the table you always manage to knock something else over?

In winter why do we try to keep the house as warm as it was in summer when we complained about the heat?

How come you never hear father-in-law jokes?

And my FAVORITE......The statistics on sanity is that one out of every four persons is suffering from some sort of mental illness. Think of your three best friends -- if they're okay, then it's you.

****A day without a smile is like a day without sunshine!****

Sunday's Thoughts (Ten Guidelines From God)

I hope to get back to my regular blogging next week. I took alittle break, as I just can't think worth anything. I share this with you. It's so true.

Ten Guidelines From God

1. QUIT WORRYING:
Life has dealt you a blow and all you do is sit
and worry. Have you forgotten that I am here
to take all your burdens and carry them for you?
Or do you just enjoy fretting over every little
th ing that comes your way?

2. PUT IT ON THE LIST:
Something needs done or taken care of. Put it
on the list. No, not YOUR list. Put it on MY
to-do-list. Let ME be the one to take care
of the problem. I can't help you until you turn
it over to Me. And although My to-do-list
is long, I am after all... God. I can take care
of anything you put into My hands. In fact,
if the t ruth were ever really known, I take
care of a lot of things for you that you never
even realize.

3. TRUST ME:
Once you've given your burdens to Me,
quit trying to take them back. Trust in
Me. Have the faith that I will take care of
all your needs, your problems and your trials.
Problems with the kids? Put them on My list.
Problem with finances? Put it on My list.

Problems with your emotional roller coaster?
For My sake, put it on My list. I want to
help you. All you have to do is ask.

4. LEAVE IT ALONE:
Don't wake up one morning and say,
'Well, I'm feeling much stronger now, I think
I can handle it from here.' Why do you think
you are feeling stronger now? It's simple.
You gave Me your burdens and I'm taking
care of them. I also renew your strength
and cover you in my peace. Don't you
know that if I give you these problems back,
you will be right back where you started?
Leave them with Me and forget about
them. Just let Me do my j ob.

5. TALK TO ME:
I want you to forget a lot of things.
Forget what was making you crazy.
Forget the worry and the fretting because
you know I'm in control. But there's one
thing I pray you never forget. Please, don't
forget to talk to Me - OFTEN! I love YOU!
I want to hear your voice. I want you to
include Me in on the things going on in your life.
I want to hear you talk about your friends
and family. Prayer is simply you having
a conversation with Me. I want to be your
dearest friend.

6. HAVE FAITH:
I see a lot of things from up here that you
can't see from where you are. Have faith in
Me that I know what I'm doing. Trust Me;
you wouldn't want the view from My eyes.
I will continue to care for you, watch over you,
and meet y our needs. You only have to trust Me.
Although I have a much bigger task than you,
it seems as if you have so much trouble just
doing your simple part. How hard can trust be?

7. SHARE:
You were taught to share when you were
only two years old. When did you forget?
That rule still applies. Share with those who are
less fortunate than you. Share your joy with
those who need encouragement. Share your
laughter with those who haven't heard any in
such a long time. Share your tears with those
who have forgotten how to cry. Share your faith
with those who have none.

8. BE PATIENT:
I managed to fix it so in just one lifetime
you could have so many diverse experiences.
You grow from a child to an adult, have children,
change jobs many times, learn many trades,
travel to so many places, meet thousands
of people, and experience so much. How can
you be so impatient then when it takes Me
a little longer than you expect to handle
something on My to-do-list? Trust in My
timing, for My timing is perfect. Just
because I created the entire universe in
only six days, everyone thinks I should
always rush, rush, rush.

9. BE KIND:
Be kind to others, for I love them just
as much as I love you. They may not dress
like you, or talk like you, or live the same way
you do, but I still love you all. Please try
to get along, for My sake. I created each
of you different in some way. It would be
too boring if you were all identical.
Please, know I love each of your differences.

10. LOVE YOURSELF:
As much as I love you, how can you not
love yourself? You were created by me for
one reason only -- to be loved, and to love
in return. I am a God of Love. Love Me.
Love your neighbors. But also love yourself.
It makes My heart ache when I see you
so angry with yourself when things go
wrong. You are very precious to me.
Don't ever forget......

God Bless~
Debbie
