Stressed.. Beyond that...

Oh what a stressful last few weeks we have had. Sometimes, it feels when you do good, something turns around and bites you in the butt.

You know how we rescue dogs. All of my dogs have been rescues. Sometimes when we rescue them, we know they will not be here forever, and sometimes we think, this one will never go. Well, we rescued our lil mini doxie, almost 5 yrs ago. She was a forever dog, or so we thought. She was David's Baby Doll to say the least. Her name is Baby. We named her that from the movie Dirty Dancing, "No one puts Baby in a corner!! She not only looked like a lil baby, she was David's Baby. It all started a few weeks ago, and we don't know why. Baby and Isabella, the Yorkie, started getting into fights. At first we thought, oh they are just playing. Then one morning I went to open the door to get the doggie door ready for the day, and Baby and Izzy, really got into it, I mean the kind of fights you see on TV, on the Dog Whisperer, the ones like he calls Red cases. I was screaming for David to come help me separate them, but he didn't hear me. I finally got them separated and they went out and did their morning business, and was OK. It happened again and David witnessed it and got them a part. Well, we went to my daughter's for Mother's Day and take her some furniture we were giving them. On Sunday after noon, Mother's day, they got into it bad!!! My son in law, Chad tried getting them a part. Baby bit him hard, through his thumb nail and hand. He literally had to pry open Baby's mouth to get her off Izzy's neck. We thought for sure she'd kill Izzy. We tried keeping them a part, but on Monday afternoon, we were getting ready to go to my granddaughter's softball game. I walked by and saw them all snuggled up on the chair on the patio and thought, wow, how nice, and walked into the room, to get my camera to take to the game. Well, I heard it again, and out I went and there Baby was at Izzy again. I tried to separate them but couldn't, and Chad once again got bit, and separated them. We were about to leave, so we were going to put each dog in their crate while we were gone. Chad took, Izzy and I picked up Baby. She looked me in the eye and bit my arm bad. I was devastated to say the least and in big time pain. Izzy had blood all over her head. I tried shaking Baby off my arm, and finally had to throw her off. She landed on her back on concrete and I thought I had broke her tiny back, but I didn't. Chad says she was still in fight mode and didn't know she was biting me, but she looked in my eyes, before she bit me. I haven't cried like that in a long time. It tore my heart up. So we kept them a part after that. if they even saw each other, through a gate, they went after each other. We had a decision to make. Either Izzy or Baby had to go. I love them both. We love them both. The reason, we decided on Baby was, David's COPD and her dander. He has a hard time with her shedding hair, and breathing.  Izzy and Cookie are shed free dogs. So some of y'all saw my Face book ad, begging for a good home for Baby. It was the hardest decision we have had to make in a long time. I also put a ad in Dayton's Craigslist, and Cincinnati's Craigslist. Several wanted her, but we decided on a couple from West Chester Ohio, down by Cincinnati, that just moved here from Tennessee, and had to re home their big dog they had had for 5 yrs to move here. They understood the heartache we were going through. She and her son spent a few hours in our home, getting to know Baby before they decided. They fell in love with her. If she is not with Izzy, she is a wonderful sweet dog. We still do not know what started the whole thing.

Here is a pic of my arm. Well several pics.

Here is a pic of the lady whom adopted her.
She is a very sweet lady, and updates us on how she is doing. We didn't ask a re homing fee, it wasn't about the money, we wanted a good home. Baby will be 7, July 7th, and wanted a good home to live out her older years. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers, mainly David as it was a hard decision for him. I actually let him decide which dog was to re homed. Since Baby has left, Izzy is calm and fine. When Baby and Izzy got into it, Bucky and Cookie would go in different directions to get away from the stress. After Baby bit me, Bucky was so upset. I picked him up and held him to calm him down. He was shaking and upset. That dog hates to see me cry.  He still seems sad. I am sure he misses Baby also. They have been buddies for 5 yrs. They both will be 7 in July, Baby the 7th and Bucky the 4th.

Needless to say, I didn't get pics of my Mother's Day. I also forgot the camera to take to Sydney's softball game. After all that, I didn't even think of pictures.

I also hit my leg when I fell moving the furniture into the u-haul we rented. I look like a abused woman...LOL

My leg.. It goes across my whole upper knee.

Otherwise, we are OK. I have a endocrinologist doctor appointment tomorrow. Hope my numbers are better, but with stress comes not good numbers. The pump does help although.

We still know nothing about the house. We should know they say by end of June. While we were up at my daughter's we kept our eye's open for a rental. If they take the house, we will be moving up to the Bowling Green area near Toledo, to be where my daughter lives. It is all left in God's hands now, and what he feels is better, will happen. I turned it all over to him. He knows what is best for us. We can't continue with this stress. We will not have a brain or a marriage left if something doesn't let up. God is Good, and I put my faith, and trust in my Lord and Savior. I am not trying to preach, but with him, all things are possible and I BELIEVE!!!

David and I will be celebrating our Wedding Anniversary Thursday. 11 yrs married, 14 together.

I pray all of you are doing well and enjoying the spring. Summer will be here soon. It is supposed to be 90 degrees this weekend here. **SMILING**

I love you all!!!

God Bless~
Debbie

Gosh hon! I would have had to do the same thing because I wouldn't put up with biting dogs :(

So glad you have found Baby a good home and hopefully all will be well.

I will keep you in my prayers that the house situation is resolved soon. ((Hugs))

wow, who knows why they turn on each other like that..sibling rivalry?? So glad you found her a great new home to be loved in. I hope she will be happy there and not feel anxious or aggressive at all.
You have been through so much lately and I am so sorry. I've been a really bad blogger and a worse friend I'm sure.
Trust in the Lord, that's all we can do, he knows your heart and what is best for you. Good news would sure be a welcome change though.

Debbie, I know it was so hard for you to let go of Baby! It had to be done, though, for Izzy, Baby, and for you and your family.

I'm praying for you. So sorry I haven't been around. I just don't blog much anymore. FB has spoiled me! :-)

Blessings...

So sorry you had to make that decision. With you and your husband being diabetic you can't have them biting you. Those bruises are awful.
About your home......sure hope yu can stay. (((((HUGS))))

OMGosh I was horrified reading this.
I had no idea that dogs could turn on each other after being together like yours were.
I am soooo very sorry for all this and I can't imagine how bad it was having to make the decision.
Sounds like you found a prefect match for Baby.
Love ya
