Saturday.. Suggestions please?

Photobucket

OK, after reading Hallie's blog this morning, I felt the need to give my Diet Dr. Pepper equal time. I am addicted to this and I admit it. I can not get through my day without it. I get panicky if my supply gets low. I'd rather have this than eat. Of course I like food too, but give me the choice for food for the day or Diet Dr. Pepper, I'd have to go with my Diet Dr. Pepper. OK, that's off my chest.. LOL..

Now my problem and I would love some suggestions. There's this little girl down the street, she's 10 yrs old. Now mind you I ADORE children. But this girl is getting on my last nerve. She starts ringing my doorbell early in the morning. Now we all know, I don't sleep well, I use a sleeping pill to sleep, and when I am asleep, please don't wake me unless there's a emergency. She wants to play with my dogs, which was OK, but lately she been rough with my Doxie, Baby. I get on her to be careful with her, as Doxie's backs are weak, etc. Baby only weighs 5-6 lbs, she's tiny. If I go out to sit in my yard, she's there. She waits for our car to go by and follows us home, on her bike. The neighbors have this problem too with her, but this child is really attracted to my Baby, which she calls a puppy. Baby is 3 yrs old, not a puppy. I can't enjoy my yard, water my plants, sit and meditate, etc, without this child here. Her Mom works days and her daddy nights. So during the day she has no supervision other than a sleeping father. I need some suggestions as to how I can delicately tell this little girl, I need some time to do my thing, and to leave poor Baby alone. I am to nice to be mean to her, but seems she is here all the time. She's a loud, very energetic child, very forward. She rang my doorbell at 9:30pm the other night. I told her we were going to bed and she said "Why, it's early!" Well, David had to be at work at 7am, so he gets up at 5:30am, so it's not early for us old folks...LOL. I don't mind this child coming by, but every day is to much. Any help out there as to how I can deal with this? I hope I don't sound mean or not loving. I love kids so much but this one is a pest and driving me nuts!!

I hope everyone has a great and happy weekend. I will be hiding in my house...LOL.

God Bless~
Debbie

I came to your site from Hallies, seems we all of doxies!! I have one, 4 yrs old named Arthur. You can see his pic on my blog. He is my baby, and I can't do much without him!!
Wow, sounds like you do have a problem with Miss little Neighbor girl. Perhaps you could tell her that Baby has some contagious puppy disease....fleas, worms, or even something a little worse then that. That little girl would drive me crazy...and I love kids as well, when they are invited!! Is she even old enough to be left unsupervised?? Social Services?? (I know, thats mean) Those are my suggestions. Hope it all helps.
have a great weekend!

sounds like a fairly smart kid there... I would simply sit her down and say I enjoy you and your company but I need to make some rules... you can not come over before 1030 am and you may not come over after 6 pm in the evening... there are rules to playing with baby... and if you can not follow my rules then I will not be able to let you play with her.
She may grumble but at her age someone being honest with he rand treating her like a mature child will probably get better results I think.... now if she were a teen all bets are off and i say draw your bb gun and shot her in the booty LOL... ok I am joking sort of...

I'm with `Peach~ on this one. Try and set some rules for her about when she can come by (maybe once or twice a week) and that she has to be careful with the pup. She's old enough to understand and thow a fit...it's her choice. You can do it without sounding like a "meany" at least that's what i've been told!!

By the way...h.a.t.e. both Diet Dr. Pepper and Diet Coke. Give me a real Pepsi anytime ;) ( I have an allergy to Splenda)
