Dreary and sad Saturday.

My son and my daughter in law were supposed to arrive today for the Thanksgiving holidays. He texted me last night around 4:30 AM, and said Amanda was sick with a flu bug, coughing and feeling terrible. She is 24 weeks pregnant. So they made the decision, that they weren't going to come. My oldest daughter can't come because of work, and now my baby, my son can't come. My middle child, Carrie and her sweet family are supposed to arrive on Wednesday. They only live 2 hours north of me. My son is sad also. We haven't been together in a year. I miss them so much!! I know children grow up and move on, but darn it, it hurts!!! I was so excited about having them with me. I am hoping that Carrie, Chad, Taylor, Morgan, Sydney & Cooper don't have any mishaps and can come. David has to work 10AM-7PM on Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Please keep my daughter in law in your prayers that this is only a bug and will not cause any problems with the baby. This is their 1st baby, so I understand him being very protective. He is going to be such a good Daddy. The baby is a boy. His name will be Brice. I have a lot to be thankful for, so I have to try and remember that, and not be so sad. This has been a rough year. My declining health, David's health, the death of my sister, but I do have Loads of things to be thankful for.

It doesn't help that today is a overcast, cold day. It snowed Thursday, our 1st measurable snowfall this winter. Have I ever said, I HATE winter and snow? If not, let me put it on record, I HATE winter and snow...LOL. Here is a pic of the car, right after David pulled into the garage.

The dogs are not liking the cold weather either. They either pile all up in the chair, or when David is in the computer room, his room, they lay together on the futon. This is the same futon that David fell on when he hurt his face so bad and had 16 stitches. If you notice the broken wood, that's where his face broke the wood. They pulled that wood out of his face. Y'all remember that? That was a bad day!! These pics aren't that good, as they were taken with my cell phone, and it was night time and dark in the room.

I have a crock pot full of chili, waiting for David when he gets home. He works till 7PM. The Ohio State Buckeyes beat the Michigan Wolverines 42-7, and I am in my recliner, with my laptop and the dogs curled up asleep on the couch, so all is well. It's dreary, and I am sad, but I will be OK. Hope everyone is having a good weekend.I have a favor to ask y'all. See that follow me over on the top right on my blog? If you haven't signed up to follow me already, would ya? It would sure make my day!!

God Bless~
Debbie

I know how much you were looking forward to seeing your son. I'm glad they are playing it safe and not traveling. Next year Brice will make it up to you! lol I get a lot of comfort out of my 2 dogs so glad you have your dogs. Take care and send all the snow/cold this way and I'll send you my spring and summer because I am a Fall/Winter person. Lots of hugs and prayers coming to you.

Debbie, thanks for leaving a comment, I always appreciate them, even though, I am not the best to comment on other blogs.
I don't think our WalMart is opened on T-Day. I will have to check into that. Not that I can go there, as I am confined to the hospital. Oh well, it's my turn. Have a great week Debbie, hope your days are a little brighter.

Oh Deb, I'm sorry you are feeling so sad. It is so very hard when they grow up and then can't be with us on 'special' days. Neirther of mine will be here this year...both are going to their in-laws.
Do you think the cold weather affects your neuropathy?? We've been having some cold temps and I am miserable. How is you new scooter?
I think I will go and put on a pot of chili...it sounds delish ;)
Take care and know you are blessed. I'm thinking of you...ILY

I am sorry that you are sad....that is very disappointing but best for your daughter in law to stay in bed and rest!!! I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving anyway.

Sorry that your Thanksgiving is going to be smaller than you hoped. :-(. Hope that no matter who is there, you will have a great day.

I am with you on the whole not liking cold weather. Actually, I don't mind the cold as long as I am not out in it. :-)

BTW - your gift card has left here, so should be in your hands today or tomorrow. Let me know if it doesn't show up by tomorrows mail. Since my blog is fairly new, I haven't earned enough to offer really great prizes yet, but hopefully my next contest will have a bigger and better prize. Enjoy!

Also, I signed up as a "follower" of your blog. :-)
