For the past couple weeks, I have been having some trouble with my left eye. About a week ago, I saw some bright lights in it, it didn't hurt, so I let it pass. Then a few days later, I was getting dinner ready and all of a sudden I lost vision in my left eye for a minute. Maybe not that long. It was like a window shade was being pulled down 3/4 the way and then let back up. The next day we had a regular scheduled 3 mo check up and I happened to mention to my PCP what happened. He immediately called a specialist and got me in. They ran some tests, asked lots of questions and did some blood work. They are thinking I may have a not so fun, disease called GCA. It's a vessel disease. I have a lot of the symptoms and my labs also indicate something is going on. So on Wednesday March 10th at 11:15am, I will be having a artery biopsy at the temple area. Please if you pray, say a prayer for me. If I have this disease the medication which is prednizone, does not go well with my diabetes, so it will not be a fun situation. Also this disease causes blindness and that really scares me to never see my grand babies faces again. If the biopsy is negative there's still a chance I could still have it. It may have also been a mini stroke in my eye. They just don't know right now.
Also my labs for my diabetes wasn't encouraging. My A1C was 10.2. He is sending me to a special place to handle my medications for the diabetes.
On a good note, the snow is melting!! It has been in the 40's a few days. Still very cold at night but day times it's better. I will be so happy for spring this year. It's been a hard snowy Feb. The 2nd coldest and snowiness Feb in Dayton's history. Is snowiness a word??? LOL
I hope everyone is doing well. If you stopped by, leave me a comment and let me know. It makes my day!!
Until later....
God Bless~

we just had the driest, warmest February on record, I guess you made up for it.
I am a praying woman and I will be on my knees sending up prayers for your health. I've never heard of this GCA and I'm going to Google as soon as I'm done.
If you need anything, and I mean it...let me know. I am here for you 24/7 and everything in between. Take care sweet Deb...love you lots and more..;p
I'll pray for you! Here's hoping for a negative biopsy and to seeing lots and lots more of your grandchildren. :)
Prayers for you in abundance....wishing for good news and some new ways to control your diabetes. Type II diabetic myself, and weird things can make it trend upwards....
I may not always comment, but I am here. And I am praying very hard for you. Having eye problems myself, I know the fear in your mind and heart right now.
The diabetes may have to be controlled with insulin. Do not fear that. It is better to have it under control for your eyes.
Blessings!!!
Oh, my goodness, my prayers are coming your way. I am so sorry to hear about your eye sight.
I will be thinking of you and praying that your biopsy is negative.
Prayers,
Susan
Praying for your results...snow is melting here too. Loving the sunshine.
aw debbie i'm sorry about the health issues you are having. You know i'll say prayers for you. My A1c went up to 7.5, so maybe its sympathy pains for you? :)
i know how happy you are that the snow is going... hopefully you guys are done with it for the year
hugs and prayers!!!!!
Maybe we should start some sort of partnership with our diabetes... so that we have someone other than ourselves to answer to. We'll make Deb do it too!
Then we can go global and Oprah will get involved and the world will be wonderful!
I've got you in my prayers for sure... and while we wait, we might as well have a good time!
