Yes, I am still alive!!! LOL

I tell you, I have had the hardest time trying to blog. I don't know why. I read blogs everyday, love them, but have a hard time blogging. Everyone else's blogs seems so much more exciting than mine.. LOL.

This has been the absolute hottest summer we have had since I moved to Ohio, 12-13 yrs ago. I was used to the sweltering humid heat in Charleston SC and it didn't bother me so much, so when I moved to Ohio, I thought wow, the summers are great!!! This year we have had days after days of 90+ temps with high humidity's and high heat indexes. I haven't been able to sit out on my patio like I usually do, etc and it's made me sad. They say only 80's next week. I am sure hoping!!! I still love summers over winter's although.

I have been wanting a round table for everyday eating forever! We found one in craigslist for 10 dollars!! All wood, nice, except it needed refinished. David refinished it. I will show some pics. If you want to see any pics bigger, just double click on them!!

These 1st 3 pics are of David working on the table. It was so hot!! That's why the rag on his head so the sweat running didn't get in his eyes, so he could see..

The finished table, in my kitchen. I love it!! Costs us maybe 20-25 dollars!!! I am a happy girl!! I should have taken a pic of the table before. It was in bad shape as far as the finish goes. It's beautiful now!!

We went up to my daughter's for the 4th of July. Here are a few pics from then. My son and family came from Arkansas to visit also. I was a happy Nanny!! I had not seen Brice since he was born.

Me with Brice.

Brice and his Mom, Amanda in the pool.

Cooper diving with Daddy watching. Cooper is only 3 and is a fish!!!

My daughter Carrie and Brice in the pool.

David trying to stay cool!!!

We went to Bowling Green to watch the fireworks. Here are some pics of us there.
Here is Morgan, Sydney and Cooper.

Here is Brice.

Here is Amanda and my daughter Carrie. Amanda is Jeremy's wife, my daughter in law.

Here is David and my empty chair, as I was taking the pic. LOL. It was a long walk, so we had to take our power chairs.

My son in law Chad on left and my son Jeremy on right. 2 handsome men!!

My battery was dying on my camera, so the firework pics didn't take well.

I have a double nickles birthday coming up on the 20th. We are supposed to go up to my daughters. That all depends on whether or not Bailey, our dapple dachshund goes into heat. If she does we can't go as my daughter has 2 males dogs. We want to get Bailey spayed, but have to come up with the money 1st. David has been out on disability since April 28th, so funds are not good. He has applied for Social Security Disability so hopefully that will be approved. The doc says he can't work anymore. It's to much with his COPD and oxygen wearing 24/7. Right now he doesn't have insurance, so we are relying on the VA Hospital for his meds and such. Say a prayer he will get approved. I really do not want to lose our home. I have sold everything we don't need on Craigslist.

Well, thanks for reading if you stayed this long...LOL. I guess blogging wasn't so hard tonight!! Of course it's 1:30AM.

I will leave you with 1 last pic of Brice. Isn't he handsome? Looks just like my son at that age and I mean almost exact!!!

Let me know you were here please!!!

God Bless~

I wanted you to know I stumbled across your blog awhile ago and always enjoy reading it! I am a first grade teacher in Florida and have two red dachshunds! They are rescue dogs and I love that they appreciate everything so much. Keep writing because there are those of us that DO read your blog!

Good Sunday Afternoon,
Welcome back and thanks for catching me up on the happenings and weather in Ohio.
We have also had a really warm summer here in the mountain state.
I long for fall, but I don't want an early snow. That's what happened last year and our fall colors were ugly.
As always, I love when you stop by for a visit.
Love the table pictures. How cute.
Have a great week,
Susan

Debbie: What nice family photos, and I can't believe the bargain you got on that table!

Also, you may already know this, but the VA has non service related disability that can help fill in the gaps until SSD determination is met. They have their own guidelines as to disability, and eligibility is also based on income. My father drew it before he got SSD. Your DAV or VFW representatives at your local VA can help you with this, as can VA employees. It isn't much but it is a help if you qualify! My mother also got a stipend for helping to take of him, but the program may have changed....

Love your pics! I have that same exact table but on a smaller scale, we used to put a telephone or a lamp on it. my dad refinished it as well.

You should check with your Humane Society or SCPA in your area, they can give you referrals for low cost or free spay and neuter info. I did that, and got our cats done for free!

I hope they approve David quickly!! keep me updated, i think of you both often :)

Hi hon..new here. I saw you visited my blog so I'm running over to see you. I love your photos and your big family!

I have a lot in common with David. I just got my SSD approved a few months ago. I haven't been to the VA but plan on going. I have 30% VA Disability from USAF.

I will keep him in my prayers. We both look so cute with our oxygen :)
