Robert Louis Horning N. CHARLESTON -
Robert Louis Horning, 63, of North Charleston, widower of Jean Elizabeth Horning, passed away December 31, 2012. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 6 o'clock at North Charleston Church of Christ with reception to follow. Burial will be held at a later date at Beaufort National Cemetery. Mr. Horning was born July 2, 1948 in St. Louis, Missouri, son of the late Harvey and Virginia Collins Crowe. He attended Edwardsville High School, Edwardsville, Illinois. He served in the United States Navy, United States Air Force and was a recruiter in the Army National Guard. He was a Dorchester County Constable and retired as a security officer with M.U.S.C. He was the caretaker for his late wife and he enjoyed firearm training. He was an avid Clemson Football Fan and his best friend Adrian Haynie converted him from being a Atlanta Braves Fan to a New York Yankes Fan. Memorials may be made to: Lifepoint. Surviving are: one daughter: LeAnne Decker (David ) of Summerville, step daughter: Carol Phillips of North Charleston, step son: Donnie Ford (Bonnie) of Cumming, GA and step daughter: Debbie Bemis (David) of Dayton, OH, 14 grandchildren: Shane, Dana, Aubrey, April, Carrie, Heather, Christopher, Jeremy, Caroline, Hannah, Harrison, Holton, Brian and Derek and 14 great grandchildren: Kierra and Landon, along with 12 others and baby Mason on the way. Three brothers: Bill Crowe (Joan) of Glen Carbon, IL, Walter Crowe of Keyesport, IL and Harvey Crowe of Oil City, PA, aunt: Jackie Bolte of Tacoma, Washington, one niece and one nephew: Jill Crowe Lembeck and Jason Crowe both of St. Louis, Missouri. He was predeceased by his step daughter and sister: Susan Kovach and Earlene Stewart.

Oh Deb, I was just catching up on my blog reading when I came across this. Dear Lord be with you as you say good-bye to another family member.
