Here are some pics of our storm on September 14th. It lasted 6-8 hours with 80 mph winds. I didn't take a lot of pics as it was pretty scary but I snapped a few. I wish I had taken more. It was a hard clean up. These were taken at the beginning of the storm. 3 people were killed near us from trees falling on them, so I kept my head inside. I feel so sorry for those in Houston, Texas. If Ike could do this in Dayton, Ohio, I'd hate to be in Houston or the surrounding areas. My prayers and heart are with them. I have been through hurricanes before, living in Charleston, SC for 42 byears and thought I would never seen hurricane damage like this in Ohio.
God must really be trying to tell us something to have had that strength from Texas to Ohio. I read 3 books in the 9 days and David and I talked more than we have in a long time. We got to know our neighbors better and was humbled for sure. My neighbor next door had a generator, and they kept my insulin for me and kept our cell phones charged for us. We did lose all our food. A deep freeze full, and 2 refrigerators full. We had just got groceries and it has hit us hard!! Payday isn't until next week. David was also out of work for 4 days, because his store was closed, so things are tough!! It could have been worse and I am thankful we are OK.
