I had a Dr. appointment on Wednesday for my finger, and my normal 3 mo check up. I arrived 5 mins late and they refused to see me. Now, I have been with this doc for 11yrs now. I arrived late because we had a high wind warning and the winds were at 67 MPH. David has COPD and the wind made him move alittle slow. I can't drive, because of my diabetic eyes. Also the receptionist was on the phone for a few Min's and I stood there to check in. David was beyond mad. So, I can't get in until the 25th. My finger is doing better, not red anymore, alittle swollen and sore. If it gets bad again, I will go to urgent care or the ER, before the 25th. David is really going to give the Dr. a talking to.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend. Mine is quiet so far. David works weekends, so I am alone all weekend.
I will try and blog some more later, but I wanted to let those who asked about my finger. Thanks guys!!!
God Bless~

11 YEARS! and 5 minutes late and they wouldn't let you see him. There needs to be a good talking to. The Doc may not even be aware that you were turned away, but if he is he needs to be talked to... but be aware that if he incorporated this rule, he may request you find another doc if David goes too hard on him. I know it certainly is not fair, especially being a long time patient. Well we will hope for the best for your finger and all your other parts to be fine by he 25th.

by the 25th... I swear I'm gonna' fire my proof reader...
what a crappy thing for that Dr.'s office to do! Reddirt is spot on...Drs are like prima ballerinas now...cross them and they cross you off their practice. Hope your finger is OK...not good for diabetics to have infected anything which is why they should have seen you 5 minutes late or not.
Good morning Debbie,
Thank you for the nice Valentine's day greeting.
Our weekend was busy with basketball, lunch out, ARC store, friends, family, cleaning and so on. The weather here has been beautiful and just perfect for walking the dogs and the husband. :o)
The dogs all have the same mother and 2 of them have the same father. We got them from a nice family in Brighton, CO. They have been the best dogs. So far, no big health problems.
Someday, when I grow up I would like to foster dachshunds.
Good luck with your finger. Sorry about your doctor's appointment.
Have a great Monday.

That is scary...I wonder if the doc knows about that..if he does I think that Helen is right on with the advice. They should have seen you...five minutes is nothing, believe me I worked in a doc's office and we would have never done that to a patient with a potential infection. I really do hope it is feeling better.
So sorry David has such a hard time with his COPD...Bless him for being there for you. We hit the jackpot on that one didn't we...;)
i'd also write a letter to the doc just to let him know your feelings!
That is just unbelievable!! I can't begin to express how shocked I am that they did that!! I would write a letter to the surgery. Not a nasty, awful letter....just one stating what happened and how disappointed you are. I wouldn't be suprised if the doctor is not aware this is happening? Good luck with whatever you decide.
Wow! I cannot believe they did that! I have actually waited in the waiting room for an hour then waited to see the doctor in the room for 45 minutes so I cannot believe that being 5 minutes late would harm anything! I think I would make sure that you or David talks to the doctor when you go on the 25th. Especially you being a diabetic and the way your finger looked...unbelieveable! I'm hoping that your finger is feeling better and doing better!
